A different Heraklion

Φωνές, βουητό, φασαρία.
Κόσμος πολύς, πάντα βιαστικός στους στενούς δρόμους της πόλης.
Παράπονα, γκρίνια, όλα μας φταίνε και τίποτα δε μας χαροποιεί.
Και ξαφνικά σιωπή. Ηρεμία. Αδειοι δρόμοι και πλατείες, ο κόσμος άφαντος και μόνο μερικά περιστέρια εδώ κι εκεί δίνουν μια πνοή ζωής. Ως και τα αδέσποτα, λες και το κατάλαβαν πως κάτι τρέχει και δεν τα βλέπεις πια συχνά.

Ήρθε και μας άλλαξε τη ζωή και τώρα μας λυπεί η σιωπή.
Αναζητούμε τον κόσμο, την ανθρώπινη βοή.

Μας λείπει το Ηράκλειο, κάθε μια στιγμή.

Για όσους θέλουν να περπατήσουν ξανά την πόλη μας, αλλά δεν μπορούν.
Ο Γιώργος Πακιούφης έφτιαξε ένα βιντεάκι.
Πάμε να το δούμε, να περιπλανηθούμε και να ακούσουμε τον ήχο της σιωπής στο Ηράκλειο..

Noise and people everywhere. Always in a hurry, walking in the narrow urban streets.
Complaining, nothing is good enough, we are not happy with anything.
And suddenly, silence. Quietness. Empty streets and squares, people are nowhere to be seen and only a couple of pigeons create a live contrast at the still city canvas.
….
Our lives have changed and silence makes us sad.
We long for human contact, for urban noise.
We miss Heraklion and all its moments.

For anyone who wishes to take a glimpse of our town again, even in all its emptiness, even in all its calmness.
